We had a fantastic time at the LGBT Parents conference at The People’s History Museum this month. The event was part of the Never Going Underground exhibition. Manchester Libraries & Archives+ were proud to lend our support armed with some of our fantastic new digital equipment: Ipads, microphones and green screens.
Whilst the parents and parents-to-be discussed all aspects of parenting, the young people decided to make a film about “what family means”.
We had loads of fun and learnt lots. The children and young people interviewed each other and people from a variety of LGBT organisations asking them “what family means to them?” At the end of the day all conference participants were invited to a special screening, cinema style and as predicted there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
