GMBA Dancer

It was all things language at Arcadia Library.  Multi-Language Manchester from Manchester University and the library brought together the local community and beyond for a cultural feast. The young dancers from the Greater Manchester Bangladeshi Association, spun and amazed us with their graceful, joyous and beautiful talent.

We were also treated to an exquisite first language poetry reading from Levenshulme High School for Girls pupils.

There were crafts galore all along the theme of … you guessed it..language! Hello badges in all sorts of languages, students shared language tutorials in fun and creative ways, language story times and their was even an green screen yourself onto your flag of choice.

It was a great chance for everyone to get together and celebrate the fantastic diversity of  language in Manchester. Parents got a chance to meet at the Bi-Lingual Cafe and discuss bringing up children in multi-language households.

Afzal Khan MP and many of the local Cllr’s turned up to support and enjoy the days activities.
