The Lord and Lady Mayoress of Manchester came to Central Library’s ‘War Memories’ event presented by The Manchester Indie Film Makers Group and Michael Thompson, WarGen interviewer.
The War Memories film performance was followed by a cream tea, an opportunity for all at the event to share some memories while young Central Library volunteers produced short content for this film:
The film projection and live acting both captivated and moved an audience of civilians and veterans from WW2 alongside their friends and families. The single performance of War Memories used film and written material from the published WarGen pages on the internet. WarGen is currently uploading film and transcriptions of the experiences of both veterans and civilians during the Second World War.
War Memories was timed to be close to this year’s Armistice Day and was in remembrance of all who lived and showed such bravery during the First and Second World Wars.
