Last November, Company Chameleon transformed Manchester Central Library through dance in Illuminate, their site-specific production commissioned by Library Live.

Now the Manchester dance company are touring excerpts from the production to three local libraries in Manchester on a three night winter tour. Longsight, North City and Wythenshawe’s Forum Library will host three very special after hours performances in January and February.

Dancers will make the libraries their stage for the performances, which will take audiences on a journey of four scenes in four different spaces around the library buildings.

In what promises to be an alternative experience of local libraries, Illuminate is taking place as part of the Creative Spaces programme, a new initiative, which celebrates Manchester’s local libraries as spaces where you can enjoy arts and culture on your doorstep for free.

After each of the performances, there will be a post-show discussion with Company Chameleon.

We will be sharing live updates of the performances on social media over the performances, so do follow us on TwitterFacebook and Instagram for coverage. You can also keep up-to-date via Manchester Libraries on Twitter and Facebook.
