Do you know someone aged 13 to 24 who could help deliver this year’s Summer Reading Challenge?  Manchester Libraries are looking for Reading Hack volunteers to help support Summer Reading Challenge activities for children aged 4-11 years in libraries across the city.

Up to 100 volunteers are needed to help children take part in the annual challenge which is based on the theme of ‘mischief makers’ and asks children to read a total of six library books over the school holidays. Sign up for the challenge at your local library and there are exclusive rewards to collect!

This year, the Summer Reading Challenge also sees over 200 activities in libraries across Manchester. The opportunity to volunteer is suitable for young people who love talking to children and getting stuck in to fun activities to encourage children to enjoy reading. It can also look great on CVs, applications to apprenticeships and the Duke of Edinburgh Award – plus it’s a fun way to get to know your local community a bit more!
