We are pleased to announce that Manchester Libraries ‘Books to Go’ Service for our housebound customers returns today.
During the lockdown period when we were unable to visit our customers, the ‘Books to Go’ staff were still in contact with them every week. Supporting them with a friendly chat and providing information and advice for people who were vulnerable and shielding.
We’ve received some lovely comments from our customers.
“So lovely to hear from you, we have missed you and really appreciate your call. We miss having a chat with you.”
“I really appreciate what you are doing, just hearing your voice is so nice”
“I really look forward to your call. I’ve not spoken to anyone since you last called me.”
We are now able to start the service again for some of our customers and will be in touch to arrange a delivery of books very soon. Unfortunately, there are some forms of accommodation we are still not able to visit but we will do our best to reach as many of our customers as possible.
At the moment, we are concentrating or restarting the service for existing customers, but if you are interested in receiving the ‘Books to Go’ Housebound Service in the future here is some more information for you.
