You’re invited to join our hunt to pick a name for our new library bear! Looking for a home from the shelves in our Library shop, we have a bear who is currently nameless. Can you propose a name and win a bear and other goodies?

Some of our favourite bears come from literature… there’s Paddington of course, Winnie the Pooh and Iorek Byrnison. Can YOU think of a great name for our Manchester Library Bear?

Four of the best names will be put forward to a public vote and our bear will have a name in time for Christmas!

Get involved:

Complete the form with your name choice by 10 December (entries now closed)

The four names put forward to the public vote will be announced on social media on 13 December

The public vote will run 13 December to 17 December

Prizes:

If you suggest one of the four names put forward to the public vote, you will win yourself a bear.

If your bear name wins the public vote, you will win a bear and over £50 worth of goodies from our Manchester Central Library shop.

If there are multiple entries with the same name suggestion, the prize winners will be selected at random.

Say hello to Shakesbear

The Voting is complete and the winning name with 43% of the total vote is Shakesbear.

You can buy your very own library bear from our Central Library shop.
