Arts Council England have produced a film that showcases the dynamic nature of libraries and what they offer to their communities across the country.

We completely recognise this in Manchester where our libraries are the beating hearts of their communities. Here are three examples from our own library leaders and ambassadors to echo this.

We all know that libraries have the potential to play a key role in the recovery and renewal programme of our communities, neighbourhoods and city.  They deliver tangible benefits to the local economy and educational outcomes as well as to the health and wellbeing of everyone in our communities, especially the most vulnerable. We hope that these clips highlight and showcase the contribution libraries make as part of the solution to the many challenges we all face.
