Sow the City have been coming to Powerhouse Library as part of the Thrive Moss Side project! We have been learning new things about birds, nature, local plants and wildlife and had some fun exploring different parts of the UK. The British Birds Top Trumps games were a hit and taught us everything we ever wanted to know about dunnock, dipper and co. One week Emily brought soaked willow and birch branches to make fishes for St Andrew’s Day, another week we planted bulbs in the local park. Sow the City are a local social enterprise who have been doing a lot of work with the people in Moss Side to encourage urban gardening and more sustainable living. The weekly activities in the library have been very popular and we’ve had many conversations about what’s actually out there, in the parks and other green spaces. Join us every Thursday at Moss Side Powerhouse Library, 4-5pm, for more nature activities!
