There’s plenty of family fun time throughout February in Manchester, with plenty of shows, exhibitions and activities to suit everyone.

As always here in Manchester we have a fun selection of museums with fantastic, interactive learning experiences. Manchester Art Gallery and The Whitworth always welcome families and there are plenty of free drop-in activities arts & craft sessions throughout February with additional sessions during the half term break.

Visit Greater Manchester Police Museum and step back in time to learn how crimes in the past were punished and how they differ from today, take a look in the cells and visit the court room. The museum has uniforms and memorabilia from the beginning of law enforcement in Manchester.

The Peoples History Museum will be showing their new colourful Banner Exhibition and holding family friendly, interactive activities that are fantastic fun experiences, educate and learn through the three family trail experiences on offer.

The Science and Industry Museum half term activities and exhibits are just what enquiring minds enjoy. From cameras that can see inside our bodies, how machinery works and even a moving sculpture. Watch this interesting train journey come to life in daily demonstrations. The past, present and future just waiting to be discovered.

The National Football Museum is a great way to kick off half term week. There are Interactive games to experience and this half term there is a fantastic make your own armband activity daily and is free entry for Manchester residents.

If you love our Lego Club at Central Library, why not try Bricktastic at Manchester Central. Spend the day seeking out all the incredible Lego sculptures, buildings and other surprises.

Why not take a trip out to The Quays and check out the Imperial War Museum North to see the Poppies exhibit and check out the Story Seekers which is perfect for families.

The theatre will not disappoint this month with Peppa Pigs Best Day Ever returning to the Opera house and The Smartest Giant in Town at The Lowry both showing over half term. There are also regular family events Little Creatives and Crafty Families at The Lowry.

And finally, coming soon is the Michael Angelo’s Sistine Chapel Exhibition which opens later this month. This amazing virtual, digital, experience that allows you to view his spectacular masterpiece in all its glory.
