The BIPC continues to support local businesses in the post-Covid recovery.
With the removal of Covid restrictions the BIPC in Central Library is returning to in-person events & activities, whilst still delivering some workshops online.
The Build A Business service continues across GM, and is gathering momentum with increase in demand for the workshops.
Highlights in March include “Women Talk Business”, our event for International Womens Day, the return of our popular networking sessions, and a new accountancy clinic.
Women Talk Business!

For every 10 male UK entrepreneurs, there are fewer than 5 female entrepreneurs. And women are less likely to believe they possess entrepreneurial skills: only 39% of women are confident in their capabilities to start a business compared to 55% of men. (The Rose Review, 2019)
But did you know that the Business & IP Centre works with more women than men?
Around 65% of our customers are women, although in the last quarter this was much higher.
Women Talk Business! celebrated their innovation, skills & enterprise journeys, and featured some of our women-led businesses including social media consultant Lisa Maynard-Atem, designer Patricia Shea, and podcasting guru Vic Elizabeth Turnbull.
“I made some fantastic connections”
“It was a really friendly atmostphere and I met some great people”
Festival of Enterprise, 2nd March

The BIPC was invited to attend the FoE organised by the GM Business Growth Hub, held at Kampus.
We joined the Meet The Expert area, offering information about how the BIPC supports small businesses and met many entrepreneurs throughout the day from across the region.
