Manchester Literature Festival

Manchester Literature Festival is taking place across the city from Friday 7 to Sunday 23 October. There will writers and actors in conversation, lectures and booking readings. There will be events and activities for children of all ages too.

Black History Month

Black History Month is a celebration and recognition of the black community in the city and beyond. There are events from live music and talks to workshops and family craft sessions that explore Carnival and its deep roots and traditions in the Afro Caribbean community in Manchester.

Manchester Science Festival

Manchester Science Festival returns from Friday 21 to Sunday 30 October 2022 with an unmissable programme of events at the Science and Industry Museum and in various locations around the city. This year’s theme ‘What does the future hold for humanity?’ is aimed at exploring what makes us human.

There will be family drop-in sessions from hands-on experiments and investigations with time travel and the future to after-hours adult events, there’s something for everyone.

Halloween

During Halloween Manchester city centre will be filled with Monster fun, colourful friendly monsters will be hiding on roof tops, climbing buildings, peaking behind walls as they take over the city. Over the Halloween weekend from Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 October you can join the Monsters for a live DJ set and a parade. Join in the spooky fun and show off your monster moves and best fancy dress outfit.

Here at Central library, we will be opening our doors for Spooky Sunday, enjoy face painting, silent disco, crafts, treat and many more surprises.

The Bridgewater Hall is presenting a real Halloween treat with Disney’s Hocus pocus live in concert with a screening of the iconic movie that tells the story of three witches accidently brought back to life on Halloween.

The Art Of Banksy

The Art of Banksy is coming to MediaCity, Salford from 21 October 2022 to 8 January 2023. This blockbuster exhibition, presented in association with HOME, has gathered 145 iconic pieces from private collections across the globe to create the world’s largest touring collection of authenticated and unique Banksy artworks.
