Manchester City of Literature’s Festival of Libraries returns for 2023 from 7 June – 11 June. This celebration of Greater Manchester’s 133 libraries features a vibrant programme of activities and events for all ages, across all the boroughs.

Look for a Book takes place from 22 – 28 May as part of the celebrations leading up to the festival. Co-ordinated by Manchester City of Literature the Greater Manchester Look for a Book quest sees 500 copies of Nadiya Hussain’s Bake me a Story hidden in and around libraries and green spaces across all ten authorities. Bake me a Story combines family-friendly recipes with storytelling and beautiful illustrations, all with a food theme!

In Manchester we’re going to be hiding 50 copies of the book.  Read Manchester Literacy Champions will be out and about choosing the best spots!  There will be one near every Manchester Library, as well as in green spaces across the city and near some of the Little Libraries.

You can ask in your local library for clues as to where the books will be hidden and check Manchester Libraries’ Facebook and Twitter pages too! You will also receive a certificate and will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to meet Nadiya herself in person during the Festival in June. So watch out for clues, and be ready to track down those books!
