Manchester Libraries and Read Manchester are working in partnership with the Reading Agency to celebrate reading and sporting heroes. This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is called Ready, Set, Read and is themed around enjoying sports and being active with both your body and mind!

Thanks to the Reading Agency’s collaboration with Nike and Rebel Girls, we have received 22,000 copies of this book to gift to children and young people in the city. ‘Rebel Girls Kick It’ is a great read full of inspiring stories, real-life heroes and fun activities.

Pop into any Manchester library from late July and ask for your free copy (one per child, suitable for age 7+ and subject to availability).

Children may also be offered a book if they are attending any of free Holiday Activity and Food sessions (HAF). If your HAF group doesn’t have these books, please encourage them to get in touch with librarycompetitions@manchester.gov.uk
