Here’s a fantastic opportunity for talented Black British authors and writers – the Call for Pitches for the Black British Book Festival 2024 is officially OPEN!

Here’s how you can submit your pitch:

1. Eligibility:

  • Authors must reside in the UK and identify as Black with African or Caribbean heritage.
  • Open to all genres, whether your work is published or self-published.


2. Submission Details:

  • Submit your Author Information Sheet or Title Sheet to info@blackbritishbookfestival.com.
  • Kindly send two proofs to Black British Book Festival, Moseley Exchange, 149-153 Alcester Rd, Birmingham B13 8JP.


3. Deadline: The submission deadline is 18th March 2024.

Don’t miss this chance to be part of our celebration of Black literature. The organisers want to shine a light on unique voices, stories and creativity from across the UK!

Manchester Libraries welcomed the Black British Book Festival on tour in 2023 with a packed programme of authors, including Kehinde Andrews, Ella Philips, Derek Owusu and Jacqueline Roy. We also supported over 30 indie publishers, booksellers and authors in our pop up roadshow.
