Celebrating UNESCO World Portuguese Language Day

We were joined today by Consul General, Duarte Bué Alves and his colleagues from the Consulate-General of Portugal in Manchester, who have generously arranged a donation of a collection of books to expand our Portuguese language collection in celebration of UNESCO World Portuguese Language Day.
The library collection is growing to include a variety of books originating from Portugal, but to also promote access to writers from Portuguese speaking nations around the world, including Brazil and Angola. The books are available in City Library in our community languages collection and we will be added these latest titles to our shelves soon. Our thanks are extended to the Consulate-General of Portugal for their ongoing support and input.
