Daria Chromik Dazzles with Piano Recital

Last week (26 March), acclaimed Polish pianist, Daria Chromik, appeared at the Henry Watson Music Library for a special lunchtime performance.

Presenting ‘Between Note and Emotion – Piano Recital’, the concert offered a unique opportunity for audiences to hear the artist performing in this intimate setting for the first time.

A pianist with over 29 years of experience, Daria Chromik’s performances take audiences on a journey through musical eras — from Chopin’s classics, through contemporary piano works, to film music including themes from Game of Thrones and “Experience” by Ludovico Einaudi.

And her performance at Henry Watson Music Library was no exception, with the crowd that had gathered to hear her play clearly hanging on every note. Picking a choice set list of classical and neo-classical pieces – you can see the full run down of what she played below.

Daria also offered short introductions during the concert, with the assistance of Central Library staff member Anna Putek. The interludes provided deeper context, highlighted stylistic features, and ultimately guided listeners through what was an engaging and emotional musical experience.

A breath-taking audience with this most sublime of pianists. The full track-list is as follows:

1. G.F. Handel – Passacaglia

2. Paul de Senneville – Mariage d’ Amour

3. G.F. Handel- Sarabande

4. F. Chopin- Waltz in C# minor op.64 no2

5. Claude Debussy- Clair de Lune
