Death Café Event at Gorton Library – Thursday 27th Feb

Join us on on Thursday 27th Feb from 5.15pm – 7.30pm for our first Death Café event at Gorton Library that will focus on conversations around death, loss and grief in a welcoming and safe space. This session will be run by Jude Evans, an experienced Death Café facilitator who regularly hosts similar sessions at The Tea Hive in Chorlton.

The event is open to all aged  18+ and aimed at anybody  who is curious about death and dying, experienced loss and grief, and to individuals who may not yet have experienced this in their lives but want to explore the topic. It will give those attending the event the opportunity to discuss themes around death and grief in a safe, relaxed space within a library setting; you are very welcome to simply sit and listen to others share stories and experiences if that is preferred. Light refreshments will be provided.

The session will start with a short talk by Jude on the nature of the Death Café and end with a short summary of themes that were discussed, also by Jude.  There will be a maximum of 20 attendees and there will be the opportunity to move into small groups of 5 or 6 for conversation and discussion.

Booking for the event is required through Eventbrite: Death Cafe Tickets, Thu, Feb 27, 2025 at 5:15 PM | Eventbrite

What is a Death Café?

A Death Café is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is important to be clear that a Death Café is a discussion group and is not a grief support or counselling session.
