Get Online Week at Manchester Libraries

Get Online Week is an annual digital inclusion campaign organised by the Good Things Foundation, dedicated to helping people across the UK improve their digital skills and access the benefits of being online. This year, the campaign will run from October 14-20.

Throughout the week, lots of free community events will be held nationwide, including in Manchester Libraries, offering a variety of activities designed to make learning about technology accessible and fun.

The campaign’s goal is to ensure that everyone can get online and make the most of the digital world. By providing free support and resources, Get Online Week aims to help bridge the digital divide and empowers people to connect, learn, and thrive in an increasingly digital society.

Manchester Libraries Digital Inclusion team are running their very own Let’s Get Digital event at Newton Heath Library on Wednesday 16th October.  The event will include activities that are suitable for everyone to enhance their digital skills, explore different training options, and potentially gain access to a device. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to improve your existing knowledge, there’s something for everyone to learn and enjoy.

Our libraries host regular digital skills sessions.  These sessions cover a range of basic digital tasks, including navigating the internet, using email, managing online accounts, and understanding online safety. You can also learn how to use various digital devices, such as smartphones and tablets.
