Holiday Activities for Older Children

Gorton & Longsight Library children and young people had a fantastic time this Easter break with the brilliant range of activities on offer.
Activities included Minecraft, Edison & Lego Robots. Hands down these STEM activities were an absolute favourite! They elicited great joy from participants.
Local artist Mandy Cleveland provided a fantastic session around different Japanese art forms Manga, Anime, Chibi and Kawaii, making mood boards and screen printing emoji’s onto tote bags.
Other artists delivering activities included Emma Martin with her continuous line wire portraits and Caroline Coates making lovely lino and Geli print cards.
Even one of the lunches being provided was an activity in itself with a “make your own wrap” that saw young people in charge of their own salad and dressing choices alongside very lovely vegan chicken strips. Lots of coming over for seconds with that lunch! One young person had this to say about HAF “I like that I get to see my friend. I also really like the activities they are fun and interactive”
