Join Manchester’s One Million Minutes Challenge 30 October – 10 November!

Unicorn reading a book

Every minute counts! If we reach One Million Minutes of reading, we will be able to ‘unlock’ book boxes for local community groups and donate a day of storytelling for children at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. You can get involved as a school, community group, or even as an individual by joining the Challenge today!

What is the One Million Minute Challenge?

In hospital, books provide escape, distraction, comfort and reassurance. Read for Good supplies brand new books and a professional storyteller who works with children on the wards. Our One Million Minutes Challenge will be supporting these children and their families to access books and reading at a time when it really matters. In 2019, we brought you the hugely successful Manchester Readathon, so Read for Good and Read Manchester are joining forces again to launch a fantastic free challenge to promote reading in your school, business or community and support children’s reading in hospital. The ten schools/organisations/individuals contributing the most minutes will be invited to nominate a local community group to receive a box of fabulous new books.
