Lindsey is the founder of Martial Fit Fusion, a business that offers a unique blend of holistic fitness, mobility, and martial arts training. Her services include online group classes via Zoom, ranging from martial arts-inspired bodyweight workouts to strength, mobility, and mindful movement, as well as in-person Taekwondo and personal training sessions for children and adults.

“My business ethos is to provide people with ways of working out that benefit more than just aesthetics,” Lindsey explains. “Exercise should be sustainable for longevity and make you feel good, give you energy and build confidence so I am flying that flag!”

After years of struggling with body image and using exercise as a form of punishment, Lindsey’s mission is to flip the narrative. “I now want to provide fitness methods that do the exact opposite. I want to provide enjoyable workouts that delve deeper into mental well-being and mind-body connection, leaving weight loss as a by-product not a main goal.”

Lindsey’s journey into entrepreneurship began after a difficult experience in her previous job. “An unpleasant experience in my last employment opened up the opportunity and time for me to think about how I wanted to move forward in my working life.” Having this experience as well as being self-diagnosed as autistic, Lindsey took the opportunity to think about her future plans, “I decided working for someone else again just wouldn’t be beneficial for my mental health so I took the leap into self-employment combining the things I love, fitness & martial arts.”

Lindsey first came across the Manchester Business & IP Centre through seeing a Facebook post about one of our new networking events, NeuroNetwork Mcr delivered by Rebecca Moley, business coach from Calm Horizon Coaching. “I came to the library for the first time after seeing a post about the NeuroNetwork Mcr event on Facebook. I had no idea that the business centre existed or of the resources that are available there.”

Through attending the Neuronetwork Mcr events and discovering the support available at the Business & IP Centre, Lindsey has found a supportive community of like-minded neurodivergent business owners, opportunities to network and collaborate, and access to future workshops on marketing and business development.

“The library has helped me by way of hosting the NeuroNetwork Mcr events connecting me with like-minded individuals and provided a great support network. I also plan to attend some marketing and other business related events at the libraries business centre as well as make the most of the databases available”.

“It’s made a huge difference to my mindset and confidence. It helps to know I’m not alone in the struggles I have faced starting a business and that I now have a community I can discuss sticking points and challenges with to find solutions. My business has benefitted by way of new connections I have made and advice I have received which has helped me progress”.

Lindsey’s plans for the future include planning corporate health and well-being packages, and continuing to collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs she met through the NeuroNetwork Mcr. Lindsey has already launched a new class at Salford Sports Village in partnership with Salford Community Leisure, and she’s building a portfolio with Renaker Developments to offer services in exclusive residential leisure facilities! Lindsey’s goal is simple and powerful: “To keep growing and building my Martial Fit Fusion community.”
