Meet Your Muslim Neighbours: Explore Islam Exhibition and Event

On Saturday 14 February, Manchester Central Library welcomed back the Meet Your Muslim Neighbours voluntary organisation, for a special free one-day community led event and exhibition about Islamic culture and Muslim people.
Hundreds of visitors dropped in to experience a day of fun and learning. From captivating activities for both children and adults, to engaging discussions, there was something for everyone to enjoy, including henna painting, Arabic calligraphy, an interactive word hunt, a Hijab try-on, Arabic tea and coffee, and an opportunity to find your Lunar birthday!
Visitors were also able to delve into the heart of Islam via informative stands, discover the foundational beliefs of Islam, unravel the scientific contributions of Muslim scholars, and build bridges between faiths.
The event and exhibition promoted connection and community cohesion in an open and welcoming atmosphere where guests freely discussed misconceptions and matters relating to Islam and Muslims. It was an excellent opportunity to foster understanding and unity.
