Glacé Media, a video production company founded by Marcus Johnson and Matt Green, specialise in creating video content for marketing campaigns and producing original projects such as podcasts, films, and YouTube series.
Glacé Media’s flagship podcast, The Glacé Film Club, offers listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the film industry. Alongside regular film reviews, hosts Marcus and Callum interview industry professionals to uncover creative processes, the realities of filmmaking, and insights that audiences rarely hear. They also share exclusive clips and interviews from film festivals on Instagram and TikTok.
The idea for Glacé Media grew from a lifelong passion for creative projects. Marcus and Matt, childhood friends with experience in marketing and video production, saw the growing importance of video in digital marketing and decided to combine their skills to launch the business. The podcast was created alongside the company as a way to express their love of film and build a network within the industry.
Manchester Central Library’s podcast studio, managed by the Business & IP Centre has played a key role in Glacé Media’s journey.
“Initially searching for a podcast studio, we discovered the library’s facilities and were impressed by the professional setup. Being able to have one central spot we could invite our podcast guests to was the dream and the setup in the library has absolutely delivered that for us”.
“The library very warmly welcomed us in, allowing us to utilise the podcast studio for our podcast recordings. We’ve since gone on to record numerous episodes in there, capturing video content whenever we do”.
“Having a dedicated space has allowed us to record high-quality episodes and capture video content, which has elevated our podcast and helped us reach new audiences online. Guests are always impressed by the location and equipment”.
Marcus explained how the podcast has become a showcase for Glacé Media’s capabilities, opening doors to new contacts and strengthening their wider business.
“The knock on effect for our wider business is fantastic. The podcast has not only grown and developed in of itself, but has opened doors and introduced us to contacts within the industry that would have been difficult to establish if it weren’t for the podcast and the recording setup we now have access to in the library”.
Looking ahead, Glacé Media plan to expand their podcast by featuring more guests from diverse sectors and launching on YouTube to reach new audiences. Marcus and Matt also aim to offer podcast development as a service to other brands and businesses, using The Glacé Film Club as a proven case study.
