Poetry Corner in the Library

Announcing the arrival of Longsight Library’s all new Poetry Corner. We have recently installed a new Poetry Corner at Longsight Library and invite all local poets – both experienced and first-time poets – to send us any poems they would like to share with their local community.
The poetry corner was inspired by a recent approach from local poet Ayomide Inufin D’great, who asked if he could display some of his poetry in the library. We realised that this was an excellent opportunity to create a new space for Ayomide’s work and for the work of any local poets who wanted to share their work with the Longsight community.
Longsight Library is a family space used by a wide range of communities so please bear this in mind when selecting work to submit. We will display the poems we feel works best together and in the space. To submit your work email it to Longsightlibrary@manchester.gov.uk or hand poems directly to staff, making sure to include your contact details so we can get in touch and also to credit you if your work goes on display.
