This month, Read Manchester host the country’s first ever See Myself in Books Festival, promoting representation in children’s books. The initiative and festival build on Read Manchester’s work to promote representation in children’s books.
To accompany the festival, Manchester Libraries Trust, the charity that support educational, cultural and archival activity in Manchester Libraries, has launched a new book gifting appeal to help purchase books for two new collections for primary school children – one focusing on ethnic diversity and one on neurodiversity. The collections are just a start: there are loads of other brilliant diverse and inclusive books to explore in Manchester Libraries.
