Sleepy-zine in the library!

We were graced with a group of brilliant students from Manchester Metropolitan University at Longsight Library delivering an activity in our children’s library. They were working on a student commissioned project to produce a big textile Zine in the form of a comfy duvet/bedding and reached out to us with their drop in activity.

Adam and his fellow students rocked up to the library with a huge blank canvas ( 2 sheets), fabric pens and lots of child-centred enthusiasm and encouragement to work with children (and parents) drawing their favourite book characters.

It was a great activity and everyone really enjoyed it and asked when they could do it again. The illustrations were fantastic. Very talented children in Longsight! They finished up with drawing self portraits on post it notes.

Keep a watch out for the end result once it makes it way back to the library to be displayed!
