On Saturday 4th October 2025 we held a celebration event at Central Library to mark the International Day of Older People.
We enjoyed a fantastic show from Sarah who performs as ‘One of Us’ singing Abba classics, some light refreshments and a challenging quiz. We also combined the celebrations with Fun Palace events, with an Abba themed crafts to enjoy.

We received some great feedback on the event, including comments such as “very enjoyable, brings everyone together”, “really making good use of this venue for the older community. Thank you!” and “Well done, Manchester City Council. This truly is an Age Friendly City!”
