Blue Peter Book Club Live in Manchester – what a summer!

This summer we’ve been busy promoting and celebrating reading with our Blue Peter Book Club Live programme!  Thanks to funding from Arts Council England and a partnership between Manchester Libraries, BBC Blue Peter and the Reading Agency, we’ve taken the Book Club out and about to communities, parks and libraries across the city.   

• We hosted Blue Peter presenters and CBeebies in Manchester Central Library on 18 May and launched our city-wide Book Badge trail
• 10,000 school children from 30 schools created ‘Reading Sets Us Free’ Book Birds  
• We created book hunts in local parks with the help of Read Manchester Literacy Champions and encouraged children to apply for their very own Blue Peter Book Badge
