Self-Care isn’t Selfish, it’s a MUST!

To celebrate National Self Care Week, we had a lovely event in the New Creative Space at Forum Library. The amazing Mind over Matter and Mercury Sounds put on some free community self care sessions. The event started with a talk on Mindfulness and how it can help you day to day and throughout your life, it was very informative and interesting.

We then had a guided meditation session; mediation can improve emotional health, increase attention span, and foster a greater sense of well-being, so it was appreciated and of huge benefit to attendees at the event, allowing them to un-wind and relax.
People attending the event also enjoyed a 30-minute Sound therapy session, Sound therapy uses specific sounds, music and vibrations to promote physical and emotional well-being. The session was so lovely and relaxing for all involved, we had lots of great comments after the session, with people saying how lovely it was and how it was just what they needed.
We asked people to make themselves a priority for the day and to enjoy being at the event and relaxing into the experience, and they truly did, and that was wonderful to see.
We were also treated to some beautiful live music from the very talented clarinettist Alex, it was a real treat and filled the space with amazing sounds.

We had some lovely comments left at the end of the event:
‘Loved today, well needed relaxation, thank you’
‘I needed this today, I genuinely loved it. Thank you x’
‘So relaxing, first time and I loved it, Thank you’
‘Very powerful x’
