Celebrating the Power of Together
The Rugby League World Cup Cultural Festival was an ambitious, inclusive, multidisciplinary festival bringing together audiences for sport and art around the tournament. Taking place in Newcastle, Hull, Leeds and Manchester, the festival amplified “The Power of Together” and celebrated inclusivity and positive social impact.
The Cultural Festival programme included a major new outdoor performance, an epic touring public art and poetry commission and a programme of engagement projects rolled out across 40 Library Services across the North of England.
Events in Manchester included Off Your Chest! Creative Writing workshops with Louise Fazackerley at Wythenshawe Forum Library, the wonderful Power of Poetry light sculpture outside Central Library and a new poem Tony Walsh!
